U11 Boys Stage 1 Summary: Riga, Gulbene & Kaunas

Boys U11

The first U11 Boys stage of the 2026/27 BBBL season took place from October 16-18 across three locations - Riga and Gulbene in Latvia, and Kaunas in Lithuania. A total of 34 teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland came together for three days of basketball.

Riga hosted 18 teams, while Gulbene and Kaunas each welcomed 8 teams, bringing basketball action to all three locations throughout the weekend.

Team Šiauliai Show Major Improvement After Strong Stage 1 Opener

One of the biggest improvements of the opening stage came from Šiauliai. After finishing last season with a 2–7 record, the Lithuanian team made a strong start to the 2026/27 season, winning four of their five games. Their only defeat came in a closely contested matchup against SKM Ereliai. Šiauliai also turned the tables against familiar opponents, defeating Saldus 61–45 after losing 39–65 last season, and beating NKA 55–44 following a 31–47 defeat in their previous meeting last year. The results highlight the team's progress and suggest that Šiauliai could be a team to watch as the season continues.
