BBBL kicked off 2026 with an amazing and action-packed January, marked by an intensive competition schedule, strong international participation, and events held across multiple cities in the Baltic region.
Throughout January, BBBL organized four regular season stages and two SuperCup stages, bringing together a total of 123 teams. Across all age groups, teams played 305 games, reflecting a highly active and competitive month. The stages were hosted in Riga, Valmiera, Madona, Gulbene, Ventspils and Klaipėda, highlighting the league’s wide geographical reach.
A key highlight of January was the BBBL SuperCup for the U14 and U16 age groups, which welcomed teams from Germany, Israel, Italy, Georgia, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. During the same weekend as the SuperCup, a U13 regular season stage took place in Riga, Latvia. Together with the SuperCup participants, BBBL hosted a total of 46 teams, with games played across five different sports halls in the city.
In addition to the SuperCup, January’s regular season stages featured teams from Norway, the Czech Republic, Poland, Georgia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia and Finland, further strengthening the international dimension of the competition.
By the end of January, the U12 and U16 age groups had completed all scheduled regular season stages. These teams will next meet during the Final Stage and the Challenge Cup, where the decisive phase of the season will determine final standings and titles.
